Drift Wood and pallet material Shelves
From the beach
from industry
keeping the
small things
within reach
drift wood
adrift on walls
eye level
and useful
Door Stop.
It has been a while since I posted anything.
Have moved to a new city. Started a new phase in business and generally settling in.
Needed a door stop in the previous abode.
Had a collection
Of collected stuff
Threw it together
As you do.
Door Stop
Emerged...
Heavy!
Steel I Beam
Macrocarpa Slab
Bed legs
Cupboard handle
Glue

Shitty Blue Tarp (A Poem)
Scrap of blue tarp
weathered and worn
an attempt to keep nature at bay
shredded
whispering in the rooftop breeze
and yet
still so blue
and I ask myself
who decided that it would be blue?
and 'that' blue
I remember a trip to samoa
or was it fiji
blue tarps over homes
cars, shelters and decks
weather
whipping
frustratingly, unruly and ugly
olive green maybe
even a steel blue if you must
but no
a shonky cheap and cheerful blue
and it now flaps
skinny, shitty
frayed and fearless upon the roof of ruin
one of Christchurch's many old
now utterly hopeless memories
a memory flagged
by a sickly insufficient
and artlessly cheap rendition
of blue.
